A BIT ABOUT ME

Felicity

Owner

We hold degrees in psychology,
writing, language arts, English, and a MA in education.
We teach special education.
We are not working now - as we are recovering -
putting together teams.
We research, write, and work on healing.
I help in anyway I can those who have also
been abused.
Abuse is abuse and leaves lasting scars.
Survivors will never get their childhood back,
but can heal and help others.

Executive Administrator

Hi, I'm Mysticmirror. We have been in recovery
for 15 years. We have grown and learned so much
about ourselves. We enjoy being here helping others as well
as getting support. We love to read, play on the computer, and spend
time with our two beautiful daughters and very supportive b/f.

BlueDreamWoman

Photobucket

Administrator

Hi, we're Bluedreamwoman and Bluedreamkids.
We've been doing intensive therapy for 6 years now.
We have a Masters in English. We love
to read and do a lot of reading about DID.
We love children's books, and hope someday to
write one. Bluedreamkids have lots of stuffed
animals, and we carry a teddy bear and journal in our messenger bag.
We write poetry, draw and paint, quilt, and
play the bodhran (the Irish drum). Currently we
are writing a memoir and learning to play the pennywhistle.
We wear colorful, comfy pants that we sew. And we
wear T-shirts that say "Does being
multiple mean I get more dessert?"
We were thrown from a horse and injured our back
when we were 15; we have chronic pain
and use a wheelchair. We've been married to a firefighter
for 36 years and have a 24-year-old son.
Being a part of the Ivory Gardens community is an
important part of our healing journey.
When we are here, we are among caring friends.

Tapestry

Administrator

I am Tapestry, I am fifteen years old. I have four cats
and a dog. I share a body with an old white lady who
lives with her husband. They have two grown
children that I occasionally hang out with. I am in a very steamy relationship
with my very fine BF. The other people in my body used to be a
social worker for many, many years,
but I babysit three little blonde, blue eyed boys and try to help them see how
important and wonderful they are and show them
all kinds of things about how life can be
fun. I love people and care about people very much.

Youth work, church lay leadership as well
as making the tea. We played trumpet in a

a brass band.

We used to swim at an advanced level, cycle
and go camping. We have been involved in
various committees At the moment we are
involved in the Trade Union and local
politics. and two churches The love of my life is my dog.

Having done so much I have been aware that
something was wrong. I have spent years
trying to find whats it was. About 3/4 years
ago we were DX as DID.

Define

Moderator

Hi I'm Define!
I've been part of IGDID for about 10 months
or so. This is a great place for support,
info and just to be yourselves. I was dx'ed
about 10 years ago but have only been steadily
working on DID for about 6 or so
months. Parts keep coming out, so I'm learning about
myself all the time. I enjoy lots of
things when I am in a good space, reading,
learning, traveling, crafts, etc.

Soaringwings

Moderator

Hi we are Soaringwings We have chosen the name Soaringwings
as we have longed to be free from the effects of our
abuse for forever. We have worked very
hard to make connections with our peoples inside
and we are thrilled to be getting to know our
"peeps" as we are affectionately calling them.

We are older than dirt, 61 and have spent our life
helping children learn and feel good
about themselves. We are a survior of sra/mc
but our main abuser was our step mother
who tormented and tortured us for decades into
our adulthood. We are a widow and had the honor of
being married to another DID courageous survivor of
sra/mc..for 29 years. We learned a whole lot from his
inner peeps. We have a Beagle named Daphnie
and 2 kitties named Hope and Charming.
We are very committed to our healing and
strongly believe in angels and God and are thrilled to
have found IG.Being here has made such a difference in our life.

Neverendingnights

Moderator

Hi We're Neverendingnights I am in my mid-20s, diagnosed almost
four years ago with DID. Since then I've learned
a whole lot about dissociation, ptsd,
depression, and psychology in general. I love this
forum because we share in so
many of the same struggles and can share
openly with people who understand and relate.

Pilly13

Moderator

Hi We're Pilly13. We have been in the system since 1969 and
were finally diagnosed with DID in 2010.
We are a system of 7 so far. Mercy, our
administrator, Jilia, Jill, Dori, Stephanie,
Dorothy Ann and Melody Ann. We are still
growing and dealing with that with the
help of a great T. Littles are new to us,
we welcome help and input as we come to
know them. We live in Maine, in a
lobstering community. The H fishes and is gone
a lot...we have several grown kids
and one 15 year old boy at home...we
love him so much. We have experience
being IP in H (several times) and years of T
with many, good and some not so
good. We like to offer encouragement as we believe
that although DID is at times
a difficult thing to live with, it is also a gift.
We embrace our ability to understand
life on all different levels. We want to
encourage and support everyone on their
path to healing.

and am now studying a BA majoring in psychology :D
I love psych. I am a psych nerd.

I was officially dx'd in 2010 but have been in therapy
since 2004 for varying mh issues. I
have been labeled with everything from BPD, bipolar
II and psychosis. None of those
are right!

I work part-time and can't wait to have my degree but

LinkinParkChick

We are LinkinParkChick, but most just call us
Linkin. Our body age is 32, but our inner ages range
from 6 months-41 yrs. We have both male and female parts.
We were diagnosed in 2003, but kept it a secret from
most everyone. After becoming a member of Ivory Garden,
we finally felt like we have a place to call home.
We are no longer ashamed of our diagnosis, for it
does not define us. We love to express ourselves
through the written word. Poetry is the true window
into our soul. Photo editing is a major passion of ours,
and music is what drives us. We are honored to be part of
Ivory Garden DID Support Group. It has changed our lives.

We're A'sjilia.
The name stands for memory of our world.
Two years ago we started out on a journey to piece our world back together.
We write lyrics and love to sing.
We have found a home here, somewhere where we can feel safe and don't have to hide.

Hi! I'm Marsha of The Crew.
I am retired and live in the Pacific NW with a very supportive husband.
Friends suspected about 15 years ago we
were DID and tried T then for a couple of years, but no help.
In 2009 was dxd with
DID and now have a great T who is helping us to get to
know one another and work on our journey of recovery.
We like reading, drawing, painting
and Ivory Garden and all the wonderful supportive folks here.

Kaliwings

Moderator

We are KaliWings.
We chose our name for many reasons.
Kali is short for CA where we live.
I often associate colors with my parts,
so think of us as a Kaleidoscope.
But, it was brought to our attention
that Kali is the Hindu Goddess of Liberation
from the Soul and to add
wings to that is just so fitting.
Also, my little ones love to ride
on the back of butterflies.
We were diagnosed about 20 yrs ago and
went through a period of intense therapy;
then, did things on our own for awhile
and all was quiet. I have my degree in Psychology and
work as a case manager for babies with developmental disabilities.
I love my job and my coworkers.
Recently, gained custody of my 7 yr old
Niece who has been with us for about 8 mos.
There have been triumphs and tribulations for sure,
but we wouldn't have it any other way.
We also have two dogs,
Darci and Deuce, whom we love to bits as well.
We realized we have some unfinished healing
and are back in therapy now.
Since we found Ivory Gardens,
it has felt like home where we can come together
and chat with others who understand
that there is a "We" in "Me."

Hi there everyone. Our system goes by Rose Collective,
and there is about 100 of us in one 19 year old body.
Together we've been through a lot, but we are
working together to heal through therapy, and being
here at ivory gardens has been a truly
wonderful experience. We love art, music and all forms
of expression really, as well as reading
and gardening and lots of things. We're very happy
to be part of such a wonderful community
as here :D
